Michael Lotito and Ilyse Schuman at Littler's Washington DC Employment Law Update have compiled a nice summary of exactly what operations will be shut down at the DOL, EEOC, and NLRB in the event that the government actually shuts down this week. They include links to the agencies' contingency plans.
It turns out that not everybody is being sent home. Here's how many employees will continue to be on the job:
- Department of Labor -- 18 percent
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission -- 5 percent
- National Labor Relations Board -- Less than 1 percent
